Valorant Patch Notes 6.08

There aren’t any major changes in the form of the addition of a new agent, map, or even a game mode in Valorant. However, the updates introduced in the final act are still worth knowing. Following are all the changes worth noting in Valorant with the patch 6.08 update.

Agent Updates

First of all, there are some agent updates that we need to go through heading into patch 6.08 of Valorant. Starting with Gekko, who is the latest addition to Valorant’s rosters, and some tweaks to his utility were expected in this patch. Moreover, Killjoy has received some nerfs with this patch to make other Sentinels, especially Cypher, more viable in certain situations.

Gekko Changes

  1. Gekko’s Q ability, Wingman received an audio update while defusing or planting a bomb. Now during battles, the audio cues will be more clear whenever Wingman is deployed to plant or defuse the bomb.
  2. Gekko’s in-game portrait has been updated with a higher-quality rendered image.

Killjoy Changes

  1. The reveal radius of Nanoswarm (C) has been increased from 350 to 525. Moreover, Nanoswarms will be revealed when it gets disabled. The audio loop for disabled Nanoswarms has been turned off.
  2. The visuals for Killjoy Lockdown (X) being destroyed have been updated for better indication. Moreover, the yellow indicator UI for the enemy Killjoy Lockdown radius has been removed.
  3. Sound cues for the deactivation of Turret (E) and Alarmbot (Q) have been updated.

Finally, Brimstone and Omen received visual updates for placing their smokes (E) and ultimates (X).

Shorty Cosmetic Updates

Valorant Patch 6.08 new shorty cosmetic update

Although no major weapon changes are made in this patch that affects your gameplay, one weapon has received a cosmetic update. The secondary gun, Shorty, had the model of several of its skins upgraded, along with the default variant. Following are all the skins of the gun that received this visual update.

Map Updates

At the beginning of Episode 6, Bind and Breeze were removed from the competitive queue to maintain competitive integrity and keep the map pool limited. However, Bind has finally made its way back into Competitive and Unrated map pools in Act 3 of Episode 6 with several changes to the map.

As a result of Bind being back in the queue, Icebox has been removed from Competitive and Unrated pools.

Quality of Life Improvement

Aside from all the agent, map, and cosmetic upgrades, there are some social changes and bug fixes in patch 6.08. Let’s quickly go over them.

  1. “Kick ally off” while defusing the Spike (bug fixed).
  2. Spike planting or defusing indicator bar (bug fixed).
  3. Yoru’s not being able to drop a weapon while using his ultimate (bug fixed).
  4. You can add/remove people in your party with streamer mode on (bug fixed).
  5. Banned players would get removed from your party (bug fixed).
  6. Invalid party invites won’t show (bug fixed).
  7. In-game chat will not get removed after the match (bug fixed).
  8. Punctuation marks will be correctly displayed in the Thai in-game language (bug fixed)
