It’s no secret that many pro athletes are avid gamers (they were once kids too, ya know?). Some teams even credit cooperative gaming with building team chemistry — as is the case with Kansas City Chiefs where Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and JuJu Smith-Schuster all play Call of Duty Warzone together.

While Warzone is a fairly recent phenomenon, there’s also still love for some of the classics that we all grew up with. Such is the case with Cincinnati Bengals QB, Joe Burrow, who will be taking on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game this weekend. In a recent interview, Joe revealed that his game of choice is Super Smash Bros and his main is Ness. Isn’t it refreshing that, deep down, pro athletes are just nerds like the rest of us?

As Burrow mentions he ‘plays on the go’, he’s most likely talking about Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and not Melee (which was made for the Gamecube, and not conventionally portable). Ness isn’t typically known as a competitive character but he certainly has some style. We wonder if the Bengals might have any plays drawn up under the name ‘PK Fire’ or ‘PK Thunder’ for the playoffs run this year.
