Valorant Battle Passes: Key Takeaways

  • Valorant Battle Passes are worth 1000 Valorant Points.
  • A Valorant Battle Pass contains 50 level tiers and five epilogue tiers.
  • The Battle Pass is the only way to get Radianite without directly buying them.
  • The Valorant Battle Pass requires a total of 1,162,500 XP to fully complete.

Valorant always releases a new Battle Pass at the start of every act. Each Battle Pass contains a flurry of new Player Cards, Titles, Gun Buddies, Sprays, and of course, skins. It’s always exciting to find out what items each Battle Pass comes with.

However, you don’t get all of these items for free. Aside from paying the initial 1000 VP, you also need to grind matches and missions out to get XP and unlock your Battle Pass tiers.

This begs the question, are Valorant Battle Passes worth buying? Well, let’s find out today.

Every Battle Pass is composed of 10 chapters and an additional Epilogue chapter. Each chapter has five tiers. Each completed tier grants a reward. These rewards can be anything from sprays, Gun Buddies, Radianite Points, weapon skins, Titles, Player Cards, and other cosmetics.

There are also some additional rewards once you complete each tier. These rewards are also available to anyone who completes the chapter, even if they didn’t buy the Battle Pass.

The Premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 VP. This translates to about $10. You’ll have the length of an entire Act to complete the Battle Pass. Buying the Battle Pass also grants you a 3% XP bonus for all matchmade games.

All About XP

Completing the Battle Pass requires a lot of work. Chapters 1 through 50 require a total of 980,000 XP to complete. If you include the Epilogue, which is an additional five tiers, the entire Battle Pass requires 1,162,500 XP. That’s definitely a lot of XP that you’ll have to grind.

The best way to get XP is by playing games and completing missions. Completing all weekly missions should get you in the neighborhood of 460K XP. If you can also finish most daily missions within the span of an act, you’re looking at over 500K XP.

Missions alone should amount to nearly half the total XP you’d need to complete the Battle Pass. For the remaining XP, you’ll simply have to play games to get them.

Luckily, the Battle Pass will still progress even if you don’t buy it immediately. So, you’ll get to see how much XP and on what tier you’ll end up near the end of the Act. Unfortunately, you’ll be missing out on the 3% XP boost that it provides.

So, onto the golden question, “Is the Valorant Battle Pass worth buying?” Well, there’s no definitive answer. Like most things in life, it mostly depends on your situation.

The Battle Pass is definitely worth the 1,000 VP or around $10 that it costs. You’ll be getting a ton of cosmetics in return, and the grind shouldn’t be that hard if you regularly play the game anyway. It’s actually barely noticeable. Just normally play your handful of games, and you’ll finish the BP in no time.

For more casual players, I don’t recommend getting the Battle Pass, at least early on. I highly suggest waiting it out first and seeing if you can complete it near the end of the Act. This way, you can save some money if you don’t end up maximizing the Battle Pass.

The Valorant Battle Pass is also great for players who spend a lot of time in the game but don’t have enough money to buy more premium bundles or skins. It will definitely add some spice to your experience without the need to spend too much.
